Section 8 & Housing Voucher Friendly Rentals

HONR Capital proudly partners with local housing authorities across Central Texas to make quality rental housing accessible to Section 8 and other housing voucher holders. We list and lease homes in San Antonio, Austin, New Braunfels, Pleasanton, and Taylor with the same standards, screening process, and support for voucher tenants as for any other resident.

How It Works

Step 1 — Get your voucher. Apply through your local Public Housing Authority (PHA) — see the list below for the office serving your city.

Step 2 — Browse voucher-friendly listings. Filter our current listings by city and look for the “Voucher Welcome” tag on each property.

Step 3 — Apply with us. Submit your application and voucher paperwork together — our team coordinates the unit inspection and paperwork directly with your housing authority caseworker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept Section 8? Yes — across all our markets: San Antonio, Austin, New Braunfels, Pleasanton, and Taylor.

Does my voucher amount affect which homes I can see? Rent must fall within your voucher’s payment standard for your bedroom size and county; our listings show rent upfront so you can check against your voucher amount before applying.

Do I still need to meet screening requirements? Yes — voucher holders go through the same tenant screening as any applicant (background and rental history), but a lower credit threshold applies since your rent portion is already income-verified by your PHA.

What documents should I bring? Your voucher/tenancy approval letter, PHA caseworker contact info, and standard application documents (photo ID, proof of income for your portion of rent).
